Acrylic Painting Camp

Acrylics are one of the most versatile media ever invented! Bright, luminous colors, ease of use, and infinite techniques make acrylic painting a boundless, creative choice. Whether you are intrigued by acrylic's potential, or have worked in acrylic for years, this class has something for everyone! We will cover the basics of composition, light & shadow, color harmony, and perspective. You will have the opportunity to paint a variety of subjects: landscapes, animals, plants, national parks, birds, sailboats, still lifes. We will delve into some of the alternative techniques acrylics has to offer: washes, layering, dripping, sponging, spraying, textured mediums, collage, etc!  Expand your creative horizons in this fun and informative class! Beyond Selfies & Snapshots by Phone or by Tablet

Can phone and tablet pictures rock?  Yes!  Do you need a big, expensive camera to capture a cool image?  No!  With example pictures and hands-on field trips, you'll learn how that device already in your pocket or backpack can make a big impression.  We'll cover

- the properties of light: dull to dramatic,

- posing for that best look,

- principles of composition and

- adding impact to food and still-life pics.

Then we'll dive into editing apps to adjust your images on your device.  Lastly, we'll cover different ways to display your pictures - from prints on metal to books to coasters and mugs.  No experience required.  Bring any recent tablet or phone that has a digital camera and can be connected to the internet.

Cartooning & Caricatures Camp

Write! Draw! Ink! This workshop allows young artists to learn the process of cartooning and drawing caricatures. Campers will follow along on a step by step basis to draw some favorite characters as well as create their own characters and write and draw their own stories.

Ceramic Castles

Create your masterpiece! This is your opportunity to design and build the castle of your dreams! Students will learn to create forms using basic clay hand building techniques. Pieces will be ready in a week to display in your yard, coffee table or bedroom!

Ceramic Frogs

Ribbit! Make a high fired frog to be used outside in the garden or in the house to hold sponges by the kitchen sink or pens and pencils.

The students will learn basic clay techniques to build a high fired ceramic frogs.. They can be personalized to use for kitchen or wall hangings. Multi color clays will be used. Instructor will "patina" the pieces after bisque and you will pick up your pieces ready to hang and enjoy.

Ceramic Tidepool with Melted Glass

Make a beautiful treasure. Everyone loves to look at sea life in a tidepool and this is your time to create your own. Students will learn to create the bowl and sea animals using basic clay hand building techniques. Instructor will put glass in the bottom during firing to resemble water if requested. Pieces will be ready in a week to display in your yard, coffee table or deck! Fun for the whole family!                 All Levels

Painting and drawing animals is easy and fun- you will be amazed as you bring these creatures to life! In this class you will learn how to draw and paint a wide variety of animals doing what they do best- running, jumping, flying, swimming, etc. We will be drawing and painting animals and birds such as owls, tigers, parrots, wolves, hummingbirds, housecats, pelicans, bears, etc! We will cover anatomy, lighting, color harmony, composition, and many other subjects to help you to bring your animals to life in this exciting class! The subjects will be taught in a step-by-step fashion, in which you will be able to follow along with the steps while they are being done in front of the class.

Fantasy and Sci Fi Creatures Camp

Explore the fascinating world of fantasy creatures in this exciting new class! We will depict Dragons, Dinos, Mecha, Monsters, Robots, Elves, Gnomes, Trolls, Shape- Shifters, Mutants, Clones, Giant Insectoids, Animal- Creature Hybrids, Multi- Creature Hybrids, and all the amazing things they do! Running, flying, swimming, battling foes, rescuing heroes, breathing fire, etc,! We will explore creatures in a variety of media- starting with drawing, and continuing on in the media of your choice- pencil, charcoal, and acrylics!       All Levels

High School Glassblowing

Teens, this class is your opportunity to learn to blow glass. Using 2000° furnaces (hot enough to turn a mixture of sand and soda ash into glass) you will practice the basics of blown glass and solid sculpted forms.  No prerequisite.  Beginner

Phone & Tablet Movie Making

Creating videos does not require bulky cameras or voluminous editing gear. Join us as we script, storyboard, shoot and edit movies you think up. Along the way we'll discuss narrative, characters, composition, light, camera work and other ways the audience can be pulled into the visual story you create.

Stone Carving for Kids

This school program provides each child their choice of one of three pre-cut animal shapes and the tools to shape it into a 3-dimensional sculpture. The instructor guides the shaping process step-by-step and provides finishing touches before each student leaves for the day.

Four fantastic days of art making! In this fine art camp, your child will explore drawing, painting and printmaking. Mediums including watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pencil and ink will be used. New and fun projects completed daily. Aprons provided, but please have your child dress for mess.
