Drawing for Teens Camp

Drawing is the foundation of the visual arts and anyone can learn to draw! This class will build a solid foundation of drawing skills to strengthen your ability to express your creativity!  The instructor will demonstrate specific techniques to render realistically using line and contour, shape and form, light and shadow, space and depth, proportion and perspective. Principles of composition will also be covered. All Levels

High School Glassblowing

Teens, this class is your opportunity to learn to blow glass. Using 2000° furnaces (hot enough to turn a mixture of sand and soda ash into glass) you will practice the basics of blown glass and solid sculpted forms.  Four weekly sessions, no prerequisite.  Beginner

iPad CLAY ANIMATION: Alienz

B.Y.O.C.A.  (Build Your Own Crazy Alien).  How many eyes, ears, noses, mouths, wings, and jetpacks does an alien have?  You decide! This camp is run by Seattle based C.A.N. - Clay Animation Network. Students use iPads (C.A.N provides) to create clay animation videos. Lessons include sound editing and music composition based on the class theme. View commercials at www.cancancancan.com.

iPad CLAY ANIMATION: Zombies (G-Rated)

rrAHGRG! Run Away!  The Zombies are coming!  Oh no!  I tripped!  AHH!…rrAHGRG! What?  It’s helping me get up?  Uh, thanks zombie dude, what’s your name? rrAHGRG! This camp is run by Seattle based C.A.N. - Clay Animation Network. Students will use iPads (provided by C.A.N) to take animation photos, edit video/sound, and create unique music scores based on the class theme. Set, character and story construction will be taught. Pacific Northwest Native American Art Camp

Explore the fascinating world of Pacific Northwest Native American Art in this exciting three day camp. Through hands-on activities your child will develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of Native American art specific to this region. New and fun projects completed daily! During camp children will learn and gather ideas of the Native American ways as they create their own face masks and button blankets using a variety of art mediums. Using the traditional Native American symbolism children will be able to design and create their own life size paper oar, totem pole and a beautiful NW Native American inspired wall hanging.

Aprons provided, but please have your child dress for artistic creation.

New and fun projects completed daily. Aprons provided, but please have your child dress for mess. All Levels

This camp takes place during most area school district Spring Break dates. Please double check with your child's school district.

Watercolor for Teens Camp

Have you ever wanted to discover the magic of watercolor painting? Learn about watercolor paper, paints, brushes, values and drawing in a fun, nurturing atmosphere. You'll be amazed at how fast you progress. Learn to see like an artist, develop basic drawing and brushstroke skills, and the value of light and shadow to add drama to your paintings! Participate in creative exercises and build the skills to take your artwork to the next level. Level: Beginner
