Boho Embellishment

Have a garment or accessory that you want to add a little character to? Want to create wall art or a fiber design? Come join us for a class on embroidery and embellishment techniques. We will combine different techniques and patterns for unique combinations and give standard processes a modern vibe.

Build Your Own Silkscreen

Ever wanted to create your own silk screen? Come take this class that will teach you how to build your own silk screen for screen printing, photo emulsion and silk screening.

Students will learn how to properly build and assemble silk screens for printing.

Faux Enameling

powders, enameling medium and resin to permanently adhere color to metal. This technique will create the same look as torch-fired or kiln-fired enamels but without the heat. Learn to combine Enamel Medium with quick-melting Relique powders, to create beautiful mixed-media metalwork in minutes. Cold Enameling will never rub off, fade or yellow over time.

Gratitude Boxes

In this class you will make a mixed media "miracle" box to store your "wishes" and wants, and "miracles" you are grateful for!

We will explore, play and have a really fun time as we learn new skills with paint, resin, and ephemeral materials.

Image Transfer Workshop

Image-transfers are a fun and magical way of creating an artwork using your own images, pictures from magazines, or text from newspaper print.

This technique can add texture and interesting imperfections to your images that give them a romantic quality. You can transform almost anything into an original image transfer art piece. Surfaces like ceramic tile, wood, glass, canvas, cloth bags, clothing, etc., are all good starting points to build your transfers on.

Intermediate Encaustic Workshop

Calling all previous Encaustic students, or anyone who already loves the buttery medium that is encaustic. This new workshop is designed to create more depth and luminesce layers to your work, using hard color verses translucent and a few burn techniques. An overview of intermediate to advanced techniques will take your work to the next level of joy and complexity.

Beginning Encaustic or a recent introductory encaustic class is a prerequisite for this course.

Intro to Leatherwork: The Perfect Little Clutch

In this class you will learn about the art of working with leather. All while making a sweet little clutch.

When do you hand sew, when do you use a machine? When do you glue and finish edges? What is "hardware" and when/why do you use it? We can answer those questions and much more! In this class we will go over the basics of hand working leather. We will be going old school and learning the beautiful art of hand sewing leather. No machine required! Design your own clutch and personalize the closure and details.

Painting On Silk for Quilters

Create the colors and textures you want by creating your own fat quarters. Using permanent dyes, we will learn to mix, blend, and texture colors to create fabrics that are one of a kind.

Photo Based Collage

Photo-based collaging is both a creative and intuitive way of producing an art piece using images you already have!

We all have extra copies of unframed pictures, masses of forgotten digital images sitting on our cameras and phones, or sentimental magazines that occupy too much space at home. These are the perfect image sources for this class! Your work may also include sentimental trinkets, jewelry, greeting cards, letters, (you name it!) - anything that can be repurposed, incorporated into a vision board, or immortalized as an art piece to be displayed at home, at work, or gifted to a loved one.

RelaxingThrough Art

Art is known for being relaxing, releasing and rejuvenating. No drawing experience needed for this class, it is about the individual transformation of the student.

Sashiko Patchwork

Learn typical sashiko techniques and use them to add flare or repairs to needed garments.

Students will learn 10 standard Sashiko patterns, process and application.

Students will make 10 samples of typical sashiko stitching as well as fix any garments needing repair with sashiko patchwork application.

Sculpture & Acrylic

Gain a broad understanding through in depth exploration and comprehensive media education. Learn how acrylic can be used to create 3D sculptural forms or simply add more dimension within your flat work. This class will cover a range of techniques including the manipulation of fiber, textiles & paper, creating dimensional acrylic skins, acrylic mold casting & how to create structural supports.

Surface Design Series: #1 Painting & Bleaching

Students will explore several different mediums including: painting with dyes, painting with fabric paints, using fabric sprays, and augmenting acrylic paints with textile medium for painting upon fabric. Students will also work with discharge paste and bleach. If we have time, we will also experiment with using shaving cream for creating a marbled look on fabric.

Surface Design Series: #2 Hand Stitch & Embellishment

This workshop will work with basic stitch/embroidery techniques to create two projects. Students will be embellishing small pieces of fabric which they will use to create a small, wearable pocket/pouch. For the second project, students will create a small cover for a mini art-journal which they will also make in class.

Surface Design Series: #3 Artful Weaving

In this workshop, students will create their own basic loom using a picture frame, nails, and a hammer. Students will then use their loom to practice basic weaving methods using a variety of fibers. Students will also create a small art-weaving using natural items as their loom.

Surface Design Series: #4 Printing, Stenciling & Image Transfer

In this workshop, students will be experimenting with a wide variety of surface design techniques including: stamping on fabric with premade stamps, carving simple stamps, eco-printing, mono-printing, using premade stencils, creating stencils, and image transfer.

Understanding Color - Consecutive Week

Learning basic color theory will give you the tools, knowledge and understanding to make those choices a whole lot easier and more fun.
