Better Results from Adobe Lightroom

An evening of practical tips for getting the most out of Lightroom. To paraphrase Ansel Adams' musical analogy, the digital capture is the score but post-processing is the performance. Learn to make your photos perform at their best. Topics include contrast enhancement for tough images like the Milky Way, quickly straighten buildings, clear up haze and grey NW skies, easy HDR (high dynamic range) with a natural look, handle bright colors without losing saturation or detail, auto-mask brushes-plus safe file and import management.

Image Transfer Workshop

Image-transfers are a fun and magical way of creating an artwork using your own images, pictures from magazines, or text from newspaper print.

This technique can add texture and interesting imperfections to your images that give them a romantic quality. You can transform almost anything into an original image transfer art piece. Surfaces like ceramic tile, wood, glass, canvas, cloth bags, clothing, etc., are all good starting points to build your transfers on.

Photo Based Collage

Photo-based collaging is both a creative and intuitive way of producing an art piece using images you already have!

We all have extra copies of unframed pictures, masses of forgotten digital images sitting on our cameras and phones, or sentimental magazines that occupy too much space at home. These are the perfect image sources for this class! Your work may also include sentimental trinkets, jewelry, greeting cards, letters, (you name it!) - anything that can be repurposed, incorporated into a vision board, or immortalized as an art piece to be displayed at home, at work, or gifted to a loved one.

Successful Milky Way Photos

Efficiently shoot dramatic Milky Way images by following a straightforward set of steps to plan, capture and post-process in Lightroom or Photoshop. Learn how to be at the right place at the right time with the right gear. Do not waste your time standing around frustrated in the dark. The camera can see much more of the night sky than the human eye, but you will need editing to bring out the glory of this hidden universe.
