The Intersection of Art + Math

The Intersection of Art + Math will explore the connection between visual art and mathematics. Designed for the generalist teacher, this ten-hour workshop focuses on engaging K-8 students in creative thinking, introducing and reinforcing various math concepts, and hands-on experiences for applying math principles to create artwork.

Electro Etched Copper Pendants or Earrings

Electro-etching is a fabulous low-tech and low-cost way to add design and dimension to a flat sheet of metal. You'll choose a design from a selection provided, transfer it to copper sheet, etch the metal (re-purposed phone chargers are involved - very cool!), cut out your earrings or pendant, and dome your pieces before finishing them.

Art & Coffee: Coral Sea Candleholders

You will be creating two sets of beautiful sea-inspired coral candleholders in fused glass.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts. You will be given tips on design and layout to create your own unique coral designs.

Lapidary Open Studio

Spend the afternoon working independently on your lapidary project. We will have a room monitor available but no instruction. We provide the equipment, you provide your own rocks.

Pre-requisite: Beginning Lapidary or pass an access test with monitor.

Weekend Beginning Silversmithing

Beginning students will learn how to fabricate jewelry from metal sheet and wire.  Begin with basic skills such as forging, soldering and setting cabochon stones.  Learn to use a jeweler's saw and other hand tools.

Beginning Lapidary

Student will learn techniques to shape a slab of stone into a cabochon suitable for use in jewelry or other art work (hardness no greater than 7).

You will be creating a beautiful sea-inspired coral bowl to adorn your tabletop.

Students will make a 10"-13" fused coral bowl using strips of glass. Additional design elements can be added with frit and nuggets.

Fancy Cane Ornaments

Learn to make\pull "zanfrico" fancy cane of various designs and "roll" them up to create beautiful Holiday ornaments!

In this class student will learn to:
Pull straight canes proficiently

Twist various fancy canes using straight canes to make patterns.

Roll up fused canes on a collar and blow them into various shapes to make ornaments.

Breathe! Painting Large - Art & Wine

Breathe, Let go, and arrive at the door to creative bliss! It's time for wine, goodies, great music and celebrating the peace of freedom!! We are painting Large on canvas and easels, dress comfy and ready to melt in! All levels welcome as always!

This workshop is a part of our Art & Wine program. Enjoy a glass of wine while creating beautiful artwork! You must be 21 years or older to participate. Class fees include art supplies and a glass of wine. Bring a friend or family member! Advanced registration required.

Fused Snowman Cookie Plate

This class will give you a chance to create a fused glass project even if you have never worked with any kind of glass.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will have a chance to use frit with the precut shapes.

You will be creating an 8" square curved plate with a snowman in a winter scene to use at your holiday gatherings.
