Creation of Identity
November 6 – December 3
K-12 Exhibit Hall
Edmonds Community College (EdCC) students in the Visual Arts department
Beginning November 6th the Schack Art Center will be featuring "Creation of Identity" an exhibit of artwork by Edmonds Community College (EdCC) students in the Visual Arts department. The exhibit, guest curated by Cynthia Campbell EdCC Visual Arts Programmer, runs through December 3 in the Emerging Young Artist Gallery.
The Visual Arts department at EdCC is a collective effort by the art, photography and visual communication departments. Students from the Visual Arts programs as well as the Art Club, present work developed in their courses. The focus of their work is an introduction to self-discovery and an articulation of one's identity.
Students in the Visual Arts programs come from diverse backgrounds, and range in age, interests, and educational goals. This group of individuals consist of artists and non-artists alike, both working on the exploration of the creative process, as well as fulfilling their degree requirements.
The Visual Arts instructors are experts in their fields, and consist of three full time faculty and 10-12 part-time faculty. They work with the students to offer a wide variety of opportunities, such as exploring talents, learning techniques, finding ones medium, and building a portfolio.
Please join us the artists for the opening reception on November 17, from 5-8p. This event is free to the public.
