April 27 – June 3

The Dance of the Black Fish, 2016, Oil/canvas, Alfredo Arreguin

If you're planning to visit this exhibit please know that we will be closed on Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day.

Known for intricate and highly detailed paintings, Mexican-born painter Alfredo Arreguín is featured in the solo exhibition, "Over the Rainbow", in the Schack's mezzanine gallery from April 27 - June 3, 2017.

For decades Arreguín has specialized in creating canvases exploding with ornate patterns and bright colors. His paintings often include imagery of pre-Columbian cultures, the landscapes of Mexico and portraits of iconic cultural figures such as the painter Frida Kahlo.

This solo exhibit will be a small retrospective covering many periods of his work since arriving in the Pacific Northwest more than six decades ago.

Learn more about Arreguín in this recent article on the Inverate Gallery blog.
