Schack Art Center is a non-profit, visual art center in downtown Everett that provides an up close view into the fascinating world of glassblowing. Visitors will see working artists shape molten glass while admiring diverse exhibits featuring locally and internationally known professional artists.

For all Discovery Art Tours we ask that you make a reservation to insure your time at the Schack will be an informative and creative experience.

Self-Guided Tour - Free (Available daily during open hours.)

This free tour begins with an exhibit questionnaire that will guide you through the current exhibit as you hunt for the answers, learn about the artwork and artists. Feel free to look into the studios to possibly see artists painting, drawing, printmaking, metalsmithing, at work in the Flame & Kiln Studio or blowing glass in the Hot Shop.

Docent Guided Tour with Activity

$60 up to 6 people, $10 for every person after. ($60 down to reserve, Docent Guided Tour included, allow 60-90 minutes total.)

The following art project choices are available for groups (ages 8 through adult) following the Docent Guided Tour:

 Metal Tooling:

Metal Tooling is an art form dating back to the early Greeks and Romans around the 3rd century BC. Metal Tooling is the craft of pushing, working or making metal three dimensional to give it an embossed look. Students will have the opportunity to make a piece with this fun technique.

Metal Point Drawing:

A metal point drawing is made by dragging a metal stylus over the surface of a prepared paper, leaving a mark much like a pencil.  Many metals such as copper, brass, silver, gold and platinum can be used to create a metal point drawing, each having unique characteristics. Students will be drawing with copper and aluminum stylus on black canvas.
