2021 National Scholastic Award Winners

Two Snohomish County Students Receive National Honors

Stolen Innocence Daeton Oclaray Gold Key and Silver Medal Drawing and Illustration

Congratulations to this year's National Scholastic Award Winners Daeton Oclaray and Susanna Lee! More than 80,000 students across the country actively participated in the 2021 Awards with nearly 230,000 entries. Nearly 2,000 works received National Medals this year.

12th grader Daeton Oclaray of North Creek High School received a Gold Key regionally and a Silver Medal Nationally for the Portfolio History Repeats Drawing and Illustration, and the individual submission Stolen Innocence Drawing and Illustration. Educator Brittany Martin

9th grader Susanna Lee of Lynwood High School and J Art Academy won a Gold Key regionally and an American Visions Medal for the individual submission Face Them All Drawing and Illustration. Educator Junkyu Lee and Brooke Deward.

Their artwork will be part of the Scholastic's National Virtual Exhibition, artwork will not need to be shipped to National this year.
