Schack Artist in Residence Summer 2021 Program

Alex Vincini, 2020 Schack Artist in Residence Participant

This year, the Schack Art Center turns its focus to providing a lifeline to artists, ensuring they have the financial and emotional support to return to their studios, creating new works. During COVID-19, 62% of artists have been unemployed.

Schack Arts Center’s residency program seeks to support artists who have experienced financial hardships with the time and space to create their work. Artists who work in the fields of visual arts – painting, drawing, sculpture, glass arts, photography and mixed media- are encouraged to apply.

The Award

Three artists will be awarded $4,000 each for a one-month residency and a $500 stipend for art materials. The artist may work from the artists’ own studio or, upon availability, at a studio at Schack Art Center. The artist must donate at least one significant piece of artwork to the Schack Art Center to be auctioned at the 2022 H’Arts Auction.
