Exploring Artists through Art Camp

Students will explore a new artists each day, and complete a project inspired by that artist. We will use a variety of mediums, including acrylic paint, chalk pastels, cut paper, reusing recycled materials, and printmaking on styrofoam plates. Students will complete a new project each day.

Students will learn printmaking technique, color theory, will practice drawing and creating images with recycled materials. Students will also learn to identify the art and style of various artists, including Wayne Thiebaud, Hanoch Piven, Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, and Andy Warhol.

Students will make chalk pastel donuts/cakes in the style of Wayne Thiebaud, recycled mixed media faces in the style of Hanoch Piven, primary color stippled cartoon drawings in the style of Roy Lichtenstein, styrofoam printmaking images in the style of Andy Warhol, cut paper collages in the style of Matisse, and portraits in the style of Frida Kahlo, among other projects.
