Natural Dyeing with Flowers and Plants

Instructor will take students through the process of how to dye wool fibers with natural dye stuffs. Instructor will go over the different dye plants that can be grown at home, how to process them, and how to prepare fiber for the dyeing process.

Students will learn about different commonly grown and wild found plants and how to dye with them. They will learn how to prepare the fiber and how the dye process works. They will learn about different mordant salts and modifiers to change colors of dye pigment.

Students will assemble a dyed yarn sample card and will get to dye a scarf in whatever color(s) they choose.

All supplies provided.
