Enameling on Copper

Enameling is the art of fusing powdered glass to metal. This class will teach the three basic techniques of enameling. Students will learn to stencil, cloisonne and chambleve on copper.

Pine Needle Basket Weaving Basics

You will learn the basic methods of coiled weaving. We will use pine needles as our weaving material, though this technique can be used with other materials as well. You will start your weaving around a decorative center. You will use the basic swirling stitch gives your woven piece stability and is very attractive. Learn how to shape your basket to its desired form.

Fused Geometric Wall Clock

You will be creating a bright colorful contemporary wall clock which will add a splash of color to your home or office.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will have a chance to use frit, stringers, and nuggets with other geometric shapes of glass. We will discuss how to drill a hole in your project and the placement of the hole for proper mounting on the wall.

Fused Christmas Cookie Ornaments

You will be creating fused glass ornaments to hang on your tree and/or to give as gifts.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will decorate precut ornament shapes with frit, stringers and noodles, and nuggets. We will also add some dichroic scrap pieces for some extra bling.

Creating Dimensional Surfaces with Encaustic

Landscape & Botanical Painting

Travel the World without leaving the comfort of your own studio! Explore the amazing sights of the world through drawing and painting! Hand-Printed Image: Greeting Cards

In this three-hour workshop we’ll draw and carve holiday card designs and hand print them on cardstock using water-soluble inks! We’ll use a variety of ink colors and several decorative techniques will be demonstrated for experimentation.

Everyone will walk away with a set of their very own hand-printed greeting cards and envelopes, their carved block and all the knowledge you need to do it all again at home!

Cold Enamel Jewelry

Create faux enamel effects on metal with Iced Enamels®. Learn how to use enameling powders, enameling medium and resin to permanently adhere color to metal. This technique will create the same look as torch-fired or kiln-fired enamels but without the heat. Learn to combine Enamel Medium with quick-melting Relique powders, to create beautiful mixed-media metalwork in minutes. Cold Enameling will never rub off, fade or yellow over time.

We will explore techniques combining paper, image transfers and acrylic to create inspirational artworks! Experiment with various products that can be used to transfer laser copies of your own artwork, drawings or photographs into the surface of your artwork. Fused Dichroic Bracelet

You will create a beautiful Dichroic bracelet that will add some extra bling to any outfit.

Fused Drop Ring Vase

This class will give you a chance to create a fused glass vase even if you have never worked with any kind of glass.

You will learn basic fusing concepts and will have the opportunity to use frit, stringers, nuggets and scrap glass to create your design. You will also learn about drop ring molds and how to cut a circle.

Perfume Bottles

The class will cover the different color applications that could be used to decorate the bottle. There could be 2 variations of a perfume bottle form to choose from, a tall and a short bottle. Vessel construction steps will be talked about before gathering any glass to give an idea on the process of how a small vessel like a perfume bottle would be achieved.

Tiny Stitches - Joining Encaustic Dipped Cloth

Explore ‘the stitch' as a method to join pieces of cloth that we will dip into encaustic to make free form wall hangings.

Understanding Color II - Further Exploration of Color Relationships

You know the color wheel and understand the basic color relationships of Analogous, Compliments, and Near Compliments, but there is so much more! In this 4 hour class we will use watercolors to explore how Hue, Value, Saturation, and Contrasts can affect the appearance of a color and develop a deeper understanding of how colors work together.

Beginning Woodcut and Linocut Printmaking

This course will introduce students to relief printmaking using linoleum as a support. We will start with reductive technique and move on to multiple blocks. Color mixing will be covered.

Students will learn how to prepare their paper, register their prints for multiple printings, carve linoleum plates, mix colors and handle the press.

Electro Etched Copper Pendants or Earrings

Electro-etching is a fabulous low-tech and low-cost way to add design and dimension to a flat sheet of metal. You'll choose a design from a selection provided, transfer it to copper sheet, etch the metal (re-purposed phone chargers are involved - very cool!), cut out your earrings or pendant, and dome your pieces before finishing them.

Love Knot Ring

Dapped & Riveted Earrings

Learn how to cut sheet metal using a disc cutter, form the disc into a cup and attach the cup to metal to create a cold connection and beautiful finished earrings (or a pendant). The techniques learnt in this class can be used for a variety of jewelry making.

Braided Ring

Come learn the tricks of "braiding" wire with a drill and a hammer. No actual braiding involved. Getting Real with Resin

Learn to work with ICE Resin, a non-toxic jeweler's grade resin that gives you endless possibilities for your jewelry designs! Pour the resin into a bezel setting or silicone mold, or even use it over paper. You can use lots of different images and materials with ICE Resin that will be sure to get your creativity running wild! You will be able to carefully take your piece with you after class, or come back the next day to pick it up.

Stamped Rose Dish
