Beginning/Intermediate Silversmithing

Beginning students will learn how to fabricate jewelry from metal sheet and wire.  Begin with basic skills such as forging, soldering and setting cabochon stones.  Learn to use a jeweler's saw and other hand tools.

Pine Needle Basket Weaving Basics

You will learn the basic methods of coiled weaving. We will use pine needles as our weaving material, though this technique can be used with other materials as well. You will start your weaving around a decorative center. You will use the basic swirling stitch gives your woven piece stability and is very attractive. Learn how to shape your basket to its desired form.

Fused Geometric Wall Clock

You will be creating a bright colorful contemporary wall clock which will add a splash of color to your home or office.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will have a chance to use frit, stringers, and nuggets with other geometric shapes of glass. We will discuss how to drill a hole in your project and the placement of the hole for proper mounting on the wall.

Oil Painting Workshop

Oil painting is a fun way to express your creative spirit. It's the most forgiving of all painting mediums. As you develop your skills, you'll soon be on your way! We will learn how to blend colors, which brush to use and how to apply the paint. Beyond Traditional Cutting Tools

This class takes you beyond the basic cutting tools.

Students will learn how to use cutting tools that make it easier to cut geometric shapes. You will use a strip cutter, circle cutter, and the Morton Portable Glass Shop to expand on your glass designs for fusing, stained glass, and mosaics.
You will practice your new cutting skills by creating two fused 4" square coasters.

Faux Enameling

powders, enameling medium and resin to permanently adhere color to metal. This technique will create the same look as torch-fired or kiln-fired enamels but without the heat. Intro to Leatherwork: The Perfect Little Clutch

In this class you will learn about the art of working with leather. All while making a sweet little clutch.

When do you hand sew, when do you use a machine? When do you glue and finish edges? What is "hardware" and when/why do you use it? We can answer those questions and much more! In this class we will go over the basics of hand working leather. We will be going old school and learning the beautiful art of hand sewing leather. No machine required! Getting Real with Resin

Learn to work with ICE Resin, a non-toxic jeweler's grade resin that gives you endless possibilities for your jewelry designs! Pour the resin into a bezel setting or silicone mold, or even use it over paper. Electro Etched Copper Pendants or Earrings

Electro-etching is a fabulous low-tech and low-cost way to add design and dimension to a flat sheet of metal. You'll choose a design from a selection provided, transfer it to copper sheet, etch the metal (re-purposed phone chargers are involved - very cool!), cut out your earrings or pendant, and dome your pieces before finishing them.

Silver Stack Rings

Soldering is magic. Making metal stick to itself with metal glue? Totally magic! Come learn some magic and go home with 3 lovely sterling silver stack rings to prove it. If you have never used a torch before, this is the class for you. Short, sweet, and highly productive. The instructor will be with you every step of the way.

Fused Coral Sea Bowl

You will be creating a beautiful sea-inspired coral bowl to adorn your tabletop.

Students will make a 10"-13" fused coral bowl using strips of glass. Additional design elements can be added with frit and nuggets.

Lampwork Glass Beadmaking

If you're fascinated by baubles, bangles, and beads, this one day class is for you. You will make many glass beads as you learn the basic skills of heating Moretti (soft) glass, applying it to a mandrel, and shaping it with tools. Beginner
