Pine Needle Basket Weaving Basics

You will learn the basic methods of coiled weaving. We will use pine needles as our weaving material, though this technique can be used with other materials as well. You will start your weaving around a decorative center. You will use the basic swirling stitch gives your woven piece stability and is very attractive. Learn how to shape your basket to its desired form.

Oil Painting Workshop

Oil painting is a fun way to express your creative spirit. It's the most forgiving of all painting mediums. As you develop your skills, you'll soon be on your way! This one week summer program introduces students to the science and art of glass blowing with the guidance of a highly knowledgeable teacher. Reduction Screenprinting

Make painterly colorful prints with this one-screen, non-photo method. You will build layers of brilliant color up to a final image in glorious texture. Sashiko Patchwork

Learn typical sashiko techniques and use them to add flare or repairs to needed garments.

Students will learn 10 standard Sashiko patterns, process and application.

Electro Etched Copper Pendants or Earrings

Electro-etching is a fabulous low-tech and low-cost way to add design and dimension to a flat sheet of metal. You'll choose a design from a selection provided, transfer it to copper sheet, etch the metal (re-purposed phone chargers are involved - very cool!), cut out your earrings or pendant, and dome your pieces before finishing them.
