Pine Needle Basket Weaving Basics

You will learn the basic methods of coiled weaving. We will use pine needles as our weaving material, though this technique can be used with other materials as well. You will start your weaving around a decorative center. You will use the basic swirling stitch gives your woven piece stability and is very attractive. Learn how to shape your basket to its desired form.

Creating Dimensional Surfaces with Encaustic

This workshop incorporates the layering of mixed media in-between layers of translucent layers of encaustic onto 2-d supports, adding dimensional elements to create a rich and luminous surface.

Landscape & Botanical Painting

Travel the World without leaving the comfort of your own studio! Explore the amazing sights of the world through drawing and painting! From humble everyday scenes to spectacular works of humans and nature- some examples include: Victoria Falls, The Pyramids at Giza and The Grand Canyon.  We will depict the world in a several media- starting with drawing, and continuing on to acrylics! The Versatility of Colored Pencil

Electro Etched Copper Pendants or Earrings

Electro-etching is a fabulous low-tech and low-cost way to add design and dimension to a flat sheet of metal. You'll choose a design from a selection provided, transfer it to copper sheet, etch the metal (re-purposed phone chargers are involved - very cool!), cut out your earrings or pendant, and dome your pieces before finishing them.

Come learn the tricks of "braiding" wire with a drill and a hammer. No actual braiding involved.
