Bookbinding II

This is the perfect class if you love writing, drawing, painting, journaling, scrapbooking, working with your hands or if you've always wondered how books are made. You will learn a new structure each week with an extra class at the end to allow time to complete bindings with instructor guidance, if needed.

Cold Enamel Jewelry

Create faux enamel effects on metal with Iced Enamels®. Learn how to use enameling powders, enameling medium and resin to permanently adhere color to metal. This technique will create the same look as torch-fired or kiln-fired enamels but without the heat. Learn to combine Enamel Medium with quick-melting Relique powders, to create beautiful mixed-media metalwork in minutes. Cold Enameling will never rub off, fade or yellow over time.

Crochet Creatures

Students will be provided with a crochet hook and a selection of yarn to practice crocheting chains in a magic circle. Then they will expand on that to create sphere and tube shapes that will become the foundation of the body parts needed for a crocheted creature. Poly-fil, Snap eyes, snap noses and eyelash yarn will also be provided for embellishments and finishing.

Drawing in Color: Pastels & Colored Pencil

Drawing is extremely easy and fun! We will be drawing a variety of subjects such as landscapes, animals, flowers and still lives in pastel and colored pencil in this class. We will be covering contrast, highlights/shadow and composition. The subjects will be taught in a step-by-step fashion. You will be able to follow along with the steps to achieve beautiful finished projects!

Encaustic Jewelry

Fabulous Acrylic Pours

Students will explore and learn the popular and fascinating, fast and exciting new art form of acrylic pours.

Students will learn how to prep their canvas, selecting colors, paint layering, several techniques of applying paint to the surface, as well as finishing the artwork and prep for hanging.

Feeling Groovy: Mixed Media Flower Painting

Add a little pizazz to your art and come to "Feeling Groovy - Mixed Media Flower Painting".

You will create with acrylic paints, washi tape, and posca markers and leave with a finished artwork ready to hang and enjoy!

Getting Real with Resin

Learn to work with ICE Resin, a non-toxic jeweler's grade resin that gives you endless possibilities for your jewelry designs! Pour the resin into a bezel setting or silicone mold, or even use it over paper. You can use lots of different images and materials with ICE Resin that will be sure to get your creativity running wild! You will be able to carefully take your piece with you after class, or come back the next day to pick it up.

Introduction to Weaving

Students will be supplied during class with their own wood lap loom made in the USA, yarn, warp thread, and weaving needles to keep. We will learn 5 stitches that will allow the student to continue with their own creative outlet on future weavings!

Intuitive Painting Large

Marvelous Multimedia Monoprinting

Take gel monoprinting to a new level or learn about it for the first time! Experience the gel presses in new and unusual ways, from using them on wood substrates, leather, and various papers!more painterly handling of the ink. Maybe Monsters, Maybe Naught

Students will be given the husk of a creature to stuff and close before adding limbs and accessories. Snap eyes and snap noses will also be offered. A variety of needles, threads and faux fur will also be provided for completing the project as well as a sewing machine or two for those who would like to use them.

NW Foraging & Wax

Repurposing Fiber with Warm Wax

This class is an opportunity to take used natural fiber clothing (silk, cotton, linen) such as shirts, skirts, scarves, even (pliable) handbags, deconstructed hats and shoes -- and make them into transformed 3-d artwork. We'll be adding wire and wax for support to make freestanding encaustic sculptures.

Resin & Clay Jewelry

In this unique class you will learn a multitude of techniques to create beautiful relief pendants, earrings or links for jewelry. You will learn how to create silicone molds, how to use clay to create relief sculptures and then you will learn how to mix and color resin to use in finishing your work.

Wood & Resin Pendant

In this unique class you will learn how to make a resin pendant that combines wood with alcohol inks, oil paints and resin to create a dynamic work of art. You will custom cut your wood to fit snugly into a pre-made mold from which you will create your resin masterpiece. Once the resin is poured, the color is added and the work has set up over night you will remove the piece from the mold and learn a variety of resin finishing techniques such as filing, sanding, drilling and polishing.
