Block Printing & Carving on Fabric
Woodblock printing on textiles is the process of printing patterns on textiles, usually of linen, cotton or silk, by means of incised wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing. Come learn how to create woodblocks and design your own scarf.

Painted Collagraphs
This is a fun two-day workshop where students will learn how to create mixed-media paintings from a printed collagraph enhanced with colored mediums. Using cardboard and heavy paper, students will design and make their own image plates. With oil-based inks, they will roll and print from them onto rag paper and then develop their images with gouache staining, acrylic paints and colored pencils.

Printmaking & Collage
We will explore techniques creating your own printed imagery using to create inspirational Collage artworks! Learn the basics of creating monotype, collagraph and relief printed images. All of these methods create unique results; the pressure of printing creates texture and pattern not possible when painting directly on paper. You will explore techniques of transferring imagery without a press, using water based, slow drying acrylic paints.

Relief Printmaking
This course will introduce students to relief printmaking using linoleum as a support. We will start with reductive technique and move on to multiple blocks. Color mixing will be covered.
Students will learn how to prepare their paper, register their prints for multiple printings, carve linoleum plates, mix colors and handle the press.
