Beginning & Intermediate Bronze Metal Clay Jewelry

Beginning Watercolor

Braided Ring

Come learn the tricks of "braiding" wire with a drill and a hammer. No actual braiding involved. This is a great class for beginners who have never held a torch - the instructor will be right with you all the way. More experienced learners who yearn to be initiated into the mysteries of this stylish ring will also feel right at home.

Ceramic Tidepool with Melted Glass

Make a beautiful treasure. Everyone loves to look at sea life in a tidepool and this is your time to create your own. Students will learn to create the bowl and sea animals using basic clay hand building techniques.

Crochet Creatures

Students will be provided with a crochet hook and a selection of yarn to practice crocheting chains in a magic circle. Then they will expand on that to create sphere and tube shapes that will become the foundation of the body parts needed for a crocheted creature. Poly-fil, Snap eyes, snap noses and eyelash yarn will also be provided for embellishments and finishing.

Intro to Needle Felting

Lampwork Glass Beadmaking

If you're fascinated by baubles, bangles, and beads, this one day class is for you. You will make many glass beads as you learn the basic skills of heating Moretti (soft) glass, applying it to a mandrel, and shaping it with tools.

Maybe Monsters, Maybe Naught

Students will be given the husk of a creature to stuff and close before adding limbs and accessories. Snap eyes and snap noses will also be offered. A variety of needles, threads and faux fur will also be provided for completing the project as well as a sewing machine or two for those who would like to use them.

Pine Needle Basket Weaving Basics

You will learn the basic methods of coiled weaving. We will use pine needles as our weaving material, though this technique can be used with other materials as well. You will start your weaving around a decorative center. You will use the basic swirling stitch gives your woven piece stability and is very attractive. Learn how to shape your basket to its desired form.

Teen Glassblowing

This one week summer program introduces students to the science and art of glass blowing with the guidance of a highly knowledgeable teacher. This hands-on experience will introduce teens to the basic techniques involved in glassblowing such as gathering, blowing, and properly handling tools.  No prerequisite.

Teen Lapidary

Students will learn techniques to shape a slab of stone into a cabochon suitable for use in jewelry or other art work (hardness no greater than 7). 

Properties of types of stone and recognizing optimum shape for a cabochon will be taught.

Wood & Resin Pendant

In this unique class you will learn how to make a resin pendant that combines wood with alcohol inks, oil paints and resin to create a dynamic work of art. You will custom cut your wood to fit snugly into a pre-made mold from which you will create your resin masterpiece. Once the resin is poured, the color is added and the work has set up over night you will remove the piece from the mold and learn a variety of resin finishing techniques such as filing, sanding, drilling and polishing.
