Cartooning & Caricatures Camp
Write! Draw! Ink! This workshop allows you to learn the process of cartooning and drawing caricatures. Students will follow along on a step by step basis to draw some favorite characters as well as create their own characters and write and draw their own stories.

Ceramic Garden Gnomes
This is your time to create some cute garden gnomes for your yard! Using different colored clay and glazes, you can make boys or girls or one of each! Have fun with it!

Ceramic Garden Sun
The students will learn basic clay techniques to build a high fired "Mexican" Sun. They can be personalized to look like someone you know or ideas from the instructor. Multi color clays will be used. Instructor will "patina" the pieces after bisque and you will pick up your pieces ready to hang and enjoy.

Fabulous Acrylic Pours - Half Day
Students will explore and learn the popular and fascinating, fast and exciting new art form of acrylic pours.

Fluid Acrylics: Exploring Intuitive Abstract Painting

This class will teach watercolor fundamentals to individuals who are new to watercolor painting. Fundamentals include paper type and watercolor technique

HOT WAX: Encaustic Basics
In this workshop beginning encaustic students will receive complete basic encaustic painting instruction. This will include history and safety information on encaustic painting, a complete overview of the materials including medium, paint, tools, brushes and the hot palette, encaustic medium making instruction and DIY recipe, fusing fundamentals with heat guns and blow torches, substrate (supports) overview and preparation including smooth vs textured surface techniques, preparing hot wax paints, and learning how to do color layering and suspension. By the end of the day each student will have completed multiple practice boards and four finished abstract encaustic paintings on wood panels.

KIDSTAGE Theater Collaborative Sci Fi Creature Creation Camp
Create an out-of-this-world science fiction creature, both on stage and on paper! Spend your mornings writing and acting at KIDSTAGE, and your afternoons designing and painting at the Schack Art Center. Work with a professional visual arts educator and a professional acting teacher to expand your creativity. Students will walk to and from the Schack Art Center with KIDSTAGE staff.

Let's Create Art with Recycled Materials
Students will learn how to create art using recycled materials. They will learn to improve their psychomotor and cognitive skills using different textures and materials. Students will use techniques where they will learn how to use acrylic paint, oil pastels, watercolors and reuse cardboards, bottle caps, old magazines and plastic bottles.

New Bark Beginnings
For all those new (or old) to basketmaking, one of the greatest pleasures is weaving with soft pliable barks. In this workshop, we combine willow strips and options for
texture while we create individual small basket expressions. We have a range of techniques to use and experienced guidance to make it all happen. It's really fun to see each basket develop its own character.

Polymer Clay: Floral Journal Cover

This four day summer program introduces students to the science and art of glass blowing with the guidance of a highly knowledgeable teacher. This hands-on experience will introduce teens to the basic techniques involved in glassblowing such as gathering, blowing, and properly handling tools. No prerequisite.

Teen Smashbook Camp
Come create your very own art and journal Smashbook that will leave plenty of empty pages for you to use for the rest of the year. A Smashbook breaks all the rules around perfectionism, boundaries, and attachment to your artistic expression. We purposefully bring imperfect expression, our own rules, and non-attachment to the process of creating the Smashbook so that it can be a limitless container for your wildest creations.
