Beginning/Intermediate Silversmithing

Beginning students will learn how to fabricate jewelry from metal sheet and wire.  Begin with basic skills such as forging, soldering and setting cabochon stones.  Learn to use a jeweler's saw and other hand tools.

Ceramic Pumpkins or Skeleton Bowls

Create your masterpiece! This is your opportunity to design and build a fabulous pumpkin or a scary skeleton bowl! Students will learn to create forms using basic clay hand building techniques.

Come Play and Make a Plate!

Explore what fused glass is all about while making an 8" round or square plate.  All you need to bring is your creativity!  Glass will be fired outside of class and ready for pick up at the Schack Art Center at a later date.

Decorative Fused Glass Lantern

You will be creating a beautiful decorative lantern with fused panels to enjoy outdoors or indoors.

You will learn basic fusing concepts in this class. Students will create four custom fused glass panels using frit, stringers, nuggets and enamel paints.

Enameling on Copper

Enameling is the art of fusing powdered glass to metal. This class will teach the three basic techniques of enameling. Students will learn to stencil, cloisonne and chambleve on copper.

Students will explore and learn the popular and fascinating, fast and exciting new art form of acrylic pours in this full day class.

Fused Geometric Wall Clock

You will be creating a bright colorful contemporary wall clock which will add a splash of color to your home or office.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will have a chance to use frit, stringers, and nuggets with other geometric shapes of glass. We will discuss how to drill a hole in your project and the placement of the hole for proper mounting on the wall.

Fused Snowman Cookie Plate

Looking for the perfect plate for Santa's cookies and reindeer treats?

This class will give you a chance to create a fused glass project even if you have never worked with any kind of glass.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will have a chance to use frit with the precut shapes.

Interm/Adv Silversmithing - Jewelry Workshop

*Students must have taken the Beginning-Intermediate Silversmithing course or have instructor's permission to take this class. 

After learning basic silversmithing skills in the beginning class, students can hone those skills with guided individual projects. The instructor presents more techniques and working side by side with other students creating their individual projects broadens the experience.

Intro to Gel Plate Printmaking

Learn how to create unique monoprints without a press using a gel printing plate. In this class we'll use an 8" x 10" gel plate with acrylic paint, founds textures, and DIY stencils and stamps. We'll work to create prints that can stand on their own, but gel printed papers are also wonderful for collage, cards, art journals, or other mixed media projects.

Lampwork Beadmaking Students Open Studio Time

This Lampworking Open Studio is a time for Intermediate and Advanced students to practice what they have learned and make more beads.

Students must have taken at least one lampwork beadmaking class at the Schack or from Staci Adman.

Learn to Crochet: The Magic Circle

In this class we explore the art and skills associated with crochet! If you know how to crochet, but don't know about the Magic Circle, join us for a crochet skill that will open up a world of new projects! I use the magic circle in all one my crochet plushies. 

If you have never crocheted in your life, good news! This is also the class for you! Learning how to crochet means you can make your own scarves hats and slippers. You can learn how to make plushies to give away as gifts or keep for yourself.

Sci Fi & Fantasy Drawing

Explore the fascinating world of fantasy creatures in this exciting class! We will depict Dragons, Dinos, Mecha, Monsters, Robots, Elves, Gnomes, Trolls, Shape-Shifters, Mutants, Clones, Giant Insectoids, Animal-Creature Hybrids, Multi-Creature Hybrids, and all the amazing things they do! Running, flying, swimming, battling foes, rescuing heroes, breathing fire, etc.!

Tiny Glass Pumpkins - An Intro to Lampwork Glass

Create small glass pumpkins by heating glass rods in the flame of a bench-mounted torch and transferring the molten gather onto the end of a stainless steel mandrel. Learn to control the glass and form it into a sphere which can then be shaped into a pumpkin while still molten. A great introduction to the basics of manipulating hot glass on a very small scale!

Watercolor Painting

Enjoy the fascinating, vibrant world of watercolors in this exciting class! We will paint and draw a variety of subjects — landscapes, animals, portraits, and still lives, and explore color, value, shadow, perspective, materials, and brush handling in this fun and informative class for everyone! The subjects will be taught in a step-by-step fashion. You will be able to follow along with the steps to the paintings as they are being done in front of the class.
