Paper Heart Lights

Add beautiful illumination with 3 dimensional heart lanterns always make a statement in a room or for the perfect occasion.

Students will learn to create stunning 3-D paper heart lanterns, pattern making and cutting techniques.

Students will make 3 small heart lanterns patterns, and one large 3-D paper heart lantern, including 8-foot hanging light to take home.

Lapidary I

Students will learn techniques to shape a slab of stone into a cabochon suitable for use in jewelry or other art work (hardness no greater than 7).

Fused Coral Sea Bowl

You will be creating a beautiful sea-inspired coral bowl to adorn your tabletop.

Students will make a 10"-13" fused coral bowl using strips of glass. Additional design elements can be added with frit and nuggets.

Lightroom Essentials Guided Tour

Make "pop" what inspired you! Learn to lighten or darken, reveal hidden detail, correct colors, crop out distractions and straighten perspective. Selectively blur or blacken backgrounds with masked brushes.

Lightroom is a powerful feature-rich editing environment which becomes fast and easy after you get past the initial learning curve.

Finding Freedom Through Intuitive Art

This is for anybody who deals with any or all of these aspects: Doesn't think they're a creative, struggles with perfectionism, compares themselves with others, who can't call themselves an artist, who seeks permission from others, who craves the feeling of living in freedom, and who doesn't know what it means to follow their intuition. Alcohol Ink Techniques

Working with alcohol inks is different than with any other medium. It can be lots of fun to watch the colors blends together without a brush. Move the paper around to get inspiring effects. Use a brush and and control it a bit to get watercolor-like effects. The colors are vibrant and each piece is totally unique to the artist.

Decorative Fused Glass Lantern

You will be creating a beautiful decorative lantern with fused panels to enjoy outdoors or indoors.

You will learn basic fusing concepts in this class. Students will create four custom fused glass panels using frit, stringers, nuggets and enamel paints.

Lapidary Open Studio

Spend the afternoon working independently on your lapidary project. We will have a room monitor available but no instruction. We provide the equipment, you provide your own rocks.

Pre-requisite: Must have taken or be currently enrolled in Intermediate or Advanced Lapidary or pass an access test with monitor.

Drawing and Painting Animals and Birds

Painting and drawing animals and birds is easy and fun- you will be amazed as you bring these creatures to life! In this class you will learn how to draw and paint a variety of animals and birds doing what they do best- running, jumping, flying, swimming, etc. We will be drawing and painting animals and birds such as owls, tigers, parrots, wolves, hummingbirds, housecats, pelicans, bears, etc!

Beginning & Intermediate Bronze Metal Clay Jewelry

This class will teach beginning students how to manipulate the clay by using molding compound and textures. Students will complete 3-5 projects during class. Intermediate students will learn additional gem setting techniques and further hone their skills.

Getting Real with Resin

Learn to work with ICE Resin, a non-toxic jeweler's grade resin that gives you endless possibilities for your jewelry designs! Pour the resin into a bezel setting or silicone mold, or even use it over paper. You can use lots of different images and materials with ICE Resin that will be sure to get your creativity running wild! You will be able to carefully take your piece with you after class, or come back the next day to pick it up.

Cold Enamel Jewelry

Create faux enamel effects on metal with Iced Enamels®. Learn how to use enameling powders, enameling medium and resin to permanently adhere color to metal. This technique will create the same look as torch-fired or kiln-fired enamels but without the heat. Learn to combine Enamel Medium with quick-melting Relique powders, to create beautiful mixed-media metalwork in minutes. Cold Enameling will never rub off, fade or yellow over time.

ABC's of Painting on Silk

In this fun workshop, students will learn the basics of painting upon silk using the Serti technique. In the workshop, students will learn the basics of how to select silks for painting. They will learn to draw their design on silk and apply resist to the pattern as well as learning how to paint on the silk using silk dyes.

Block Printing & Carving on Fabric

Woodblock printing on textiles is the process of printing patterns on textiles, usually of linen, cotton or silk, by means of incised wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing. Come learn how to create woodblocks and design your own scarf.
