Ceramic Hanging Face Pots

The students will learn basic clay techniques to build high fired hanging rock pots. They can be personalized to look like someone you know or ideas from the instructor.

Lampwork Glass Beadmaking

If you're fascinated by baubles, bangles, and beads, this one day class is for you. You will make many glass beads as you learn the basic skills of heating Moretti (soft) glass, applying it to a mandrel, and shaping it with tools.

Learn How to Write Short Fiction

Drawing I - Mondays

Drawing is extremely easy and fun! We will be drawing a variety of subjects such as landscapes, animals, flowers and still lives in this class. Painting Selfie in Oil

Working from a photo, students will create a self-portrait in oil paint.

Students will learn the principals of composition, light, palette choice, we will focus on facial features, and expression of human face. Students will complete a 11"x14" or 16"x20" painting.

Enameling on Copper

Modern Collage

Join celebrated Northwest artist Harold Hollingsworth for this exploration of letter form collage technique.

This class explores readymade-paper collage on wood panel, using letter forms from flyers and found paper, cut apart, and reassembled using Yes! paste.

Fused Pocket Flower Vase

You will be creating small pocket vases to hang and display your favorite flowers.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts. You will be using fiber paper to create your pocket shape.

Students will get to make four small pocket vases. Additional design elements can be added with frit, stringers, noodles and nuggets.

Woven Ornaments

This class will create three different handwoven items that are perfect to use as Christmas ornaments, decorating packages, adding to wreaths or given as gifts. The class will weave a reindeer of western red cedar, a traditional Swedish Star of paper and a small heart of natural or dyed reed and raffia. A variety of paper sizes and colors will be available for the stars.

Intro to Needle Felting

Landscape Painting

Travel the World without leaving the comfort of your own studio! Explore the amazing sights of the world through drawing and painting! From humble everyday scenes to spectacular works of humans and nature- some examples include: Victoria Falls, The Pyramids at Giza and The Grand Canyon.  We will depict the world in a several media- starting with drawing, and continuing on to acrylics! The subjects will be taught in a step-by-step fashion. You will be able to follow along with the steps to the paintings while they are being done in front of the class.

Lapidary Open Studio

Hand-Printed Image: Greeting Cards

In this three-hour workshop we’ll draw and carve holiday card designs and hand print them on cardstock using water-soluble inks! We’ll use a variety of ink colors and several decorative techniques will be demonstrated for experimentation.

Everyone will walk away with a set of their very own hand-printed greeting cards and envelopes, their carved block and all the knowledge you need to do it all again at home!
