Glassblowing I

The basics of working with molten glass will be covered in this eight week class.

Glassblowing II

If you already know the basics of blowing glass, but aren't quite ready to work on your own, this class is for you. The use of handles, bits, and wraps will be covered, as will color application.

Lapidary I

Students will learn techniques to shape a slab of stone into a cabochon suitable for use in jewelry or other art work (hardness no greater than 7).

Seaside Encaustic Workshop

In this workshop we are painting in the luminous colors of the sea to create peaceful ocean waters, using texture techniques to give your sea foam, life and energy. Complete with sea foam and sand... You will complete 4 pieces to soothe your spirit..

Drawing I

Drawing is extremely easy and fun! We will be drawing a variety of subjects such as landscapes, animals, flowers and still lives in this class. We will be working in several drawing media and will be covering contrast, highlights/shadow, composition etc. in this exciting class! The subjects will be taught in a step-by-step fashion. You will be able to follow along with the steps to achieve beautiful finished projects!

Beginning students will learn how to fabricate jewelry from metal sheet and wire.  Begin with basic skills such as forging, soldering and setting cabochon stones.  Learn to use a jeweler's saw and other hand tools.

Goblets

Learn to blow thin glass cups, stems and blown feet and learn to put them together using the "garage". We will also learn exercises to practice building skills outside of the class. Teamwork and repetition will be emphasized.

Students will learn how to make "avolios", "blown feet", and the fundamentals of using the garage to assemble multiple parts.

Lampwork Glass Beadmaking

If you're fascinated by baubles, bangles, and beads, this one day class is for you. You will make many glass beads as you learn the basic skills of heating Moretti (soft) glass, applying it to a mandrel, and shaping it with tools.

Fused Geometric Wall Clock

You will be creating a bright colorful contemporary wall clock which will add a splash of color to your home or office.

Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will have a chance to use frit, stringers, and nuggets with other geometric shapes of glass. We will discuss how to drill a hole in your project and the placement of the hole for proper mounting on the wall.

Intermediate/Advanced Silversmithing

*Students must have taken the Beginning-Intermediate Silversmithing course or have instructor's permission to take this class.

Lapidary Open Studio

Spend the afternoon working independently on your lapidary project. We will have a room monitor available but no instruction. We provide the equipment, you provide your own rocks.

Pre-requisite: Must have taken or be currently enrolled in Intermediate or Advanced Lapidary or pass an access test with monitor.

Beginning Stained Glass

This introductory class provides a foundation for stained glass using the copper foil technique.  We will cover designing projects for glass, the art of glass cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, finishing and presentation.

Intuitive Painting - Large Abstracts

Lampworking: Make a Pipe

This class is a one day workshop of practicing working with hollow glass to make a functional pipe.

Students will learn how to use blow tubes, weld glass, use a punty, and how to shape hollow glass.

Intro to Needle Felting

In this class students will discover how fun and easy it is to create with wool fleece. From simple wool beads to intricately detailed small figures, the creative possibilities are endless! Students will leave class with new felted creations plus the tools and knowledge to keep on creating more at home.

The Writer's Workshop

Relief Printmaking

This course will introduce students to relief printmaking using linoleum as a support. We will start with reductive technique and move on to multiple blocks. Color mixing will be covered.

Students will learn how to prepare their paper, register their prints for multiple printings, carve linoleum plates, mix colors and handle the press.
