Discover the beauty of traditional lacquerware and mother-of-pearl inlay in this beginner-friendly workshop inspired by historic decorative arts. Using safe, eco-friendly materials in place of traditional natural lacquer, students will create a refined lacquerware-inspired accessory in just one session.

Participants will learn about the history and visual style of Chinese lacquerware while designing and assembling a small decorative piece such as a hair stick, hair clip, or other accessory using copper bases, standard mother-of-pearl inlay pieces, and decorative materials.

Optional premium upgrades will also be available during the workshop for purchase from the instructor. Students may choose more refined bases, including sandalwood bases, for an additional $10 per student. Imported Australian abalone shell and pre-cut shaped mother-of-pearl pieces will be available for an additional $15 per student.

No prior experience is necessary. Students will leave with a finished handcrafted piece inspired by the elegance of traditional mother-of-pearl inlay.
