ART EDUCATION PROGRAMS


From budding young artists to lifelong learners, Schack Art Center offers hands-on classes, workshops, and programs for all ages and skill levels. Our art education programs spark creativity, build confidence, and connect community through the transformative power of art. With a focus on accessibility, equity, and artistic exploration, we provide opportunities to learn from working artists right here in our community.

  • Teen Night

    Teen Night is a free, monthly event featuring art-making with local artists.

  • An art-making adventure for 3-6 year old youth and their grown-ups. At Schack Art Center on select Fridays & Saturdays through August.

  • Homeschool Art Day is designed to serve homeschools, co-op groups, and individual families, as well as locally attending cyberschool students. Projects and themes are accessible to students from Kindergarten to High School.

  • A Lifetime of Arts is a program that provides opportunities for individuals aged 55 and over to explore their creativity and discover new artistic passions during hands-on artmaking sessions with a Schack Art Instructor. Book a group session at your facility or at the Schack Art Center to discover new artistic passions, connect with like-minded individuals, and embark on an exciting journey of self-expression and growth.

  • The nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. Every year teens in Snohomish County can submit their artwork to the Scholastic Art Awards.

  • This annual student exhibition of Black and White Photography is open to all Snohomish County 9-12 grade students. Free to submit.

  • Schack Art Center tours provide a unique opportunity for groups to engage in conversation and socialize with others who share their interests, while also providing a safe and accessible environment for everyone to explore and appreciate art.

  • Schack Art Center offers school group visits to our 19,000 square foot facility throughout the year. The field trips include a docent-led tour of the exhibition, glass blowing demonstrations, hands-on art-making, artists demonstrations, and WA state standard-based curriculum. Grades K-12.

  • Susan Jane Russell College Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior planning on attending a community college, college, university, or art school in during the 2026-2027 school year, majoring in visual arts or art education.

  • For over 30 years, the Schack has partnered with Denney to provide art education classes for their students. Students participate in weekly classes and are introduced to the elements and principles of art through hands-on art lessons and high-quality art materials.

  • The Schack offers OSPI approved educator workshops with Washington State Clock Hours. The workshops are for ALL educators, and anyone involved in student education. All workshops focus on hands on learning, collaboration, and Washington State Curriculum.

  • Art and Friendship Club brings small groups of elementary students together to build friendships and social skills through fun, hands-on art projects. Schack instructors partner with school counselors to support students’ well-being and success.

  • Schack Art Center provides 4 weekly glassblowing sessions to Sequoia High School Students. Students join skilled instructors in the Schack Hot Shop to learn the basics of glassblowing and build the skills necessary to create functional and artistic objects.
