Location: Schack Art Center, Lapidary Studio
Take your lapidary skills to the next level in this intermediate class focused on designing and creating unique cabochons. Students will learn how to select the most interesting areas of a variety of rock slabs, develop an eye for composition and design, and practice cutting and polishing free-form cabochon shapes. Along the way, you'll refine your grinding and polishing techniques by learning when to progress through each wheel to achieve the best possible finish.
This class is ideal for students with prior lapidary experience who are ready to build confidence and expand their creative skills. By the end of the course, you'll complete as many distinctive, polished cabochons as time allows.
Please bring safety glasses, earplugs, a mask (optional), and an old towel. All other supplies provided.
