Scholastic Art Awards
The nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. Every year teens in Snohomish County can submit their artwork to the Scholastic Art Awards.

Field Trips
Schack Art Center offers school group visits to our 19,000 square foot facility throughout the year. The field trips include a docent-led tour of the exhibition, glass blowing demonstrations, hands-on art-making, artists demonstrations, and WA state standard-based curriculum. Grades K-12.

Educator Workshops
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR EDUCATORS
The Schack offers OSPI approved educator workshops with Washington State Clock Hours. The workshops are for ALL educators, and anyone involved in student education. All workshops focus on hands on learning, collaboration, and Washington State Curriculum.

Teen Advisory Council
The mission of the Schack Art Center Teen Advisory Council is to empower creative and passionate teens (ages 13-18) to shape the future of youth programming at the Schack. Through collaboration, leadership, and service, council members help develop event themes, provide input on teen and student-focused initiatives, and volunteer within the community—fostering a vibrant, inclusive space where young voices in the arts are heard and celebrated.

Teen Night
Teen Night is a free, monthly event featuring art-making with local artists typically on the 3rd Thursday of the month, 5pm-7pm, September through June. Free snacks and supplies provided.

Art and friendship club
Art and Friendship Club is a fun way for small groups of students at local elementary schools to make friends and build relationship skills while exploring creative art lessons together. Schack Instructors work at school sites with school counselors to help students increase their behavioral health and academic success during Art and Friendship Club.
This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Art Sparks
An art-making adventure for 3-6 year old youth and their grown-ups. At Schack Art Center on select Fridays & Saturdays 10:30am-11:30am through August.

Black & White Photography Contest
This annual student exhibition of Black and White Photography is open to all Snohomish County 9-12 grade students. Free to submit.

Susan J Russell College Scholarship
Susan Jane Russell College Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior planning on attending a community college, college, university, or art school in during the 2026-2027 school year, majoring in visual arts or art education.
