Walt Lieberman and Dick Weiss are influential Pacific Northwest glass artists known for their distinct approaches to the medium and long-standing contributions to the region’s glass art movement.

  • Walt Lieberman is celebrated for his mastery of glass engraving and coldworking techniques. His work often blends narrative and abstraction, with surfaces that are meticulously carved, etched, and layered to reveal depth and meaning. He has taught extensively and is known for elevating glass engraving into a contemporary art form.

  • Dick Weiss is known for his expressive, painterly approach to glass. His signature style incorporates vibrant colors, abstract forms, and a playful yet thoughtful sensibility. Weiss often works in stained and fused glass, and has completed numerous public art commissions. His work blurs the lines between craft, fine art, and storytelling.

Together, they represent different yet complementary facets of glass art in the Pacific Northwest—Lieberman with precision and depth, Weiss with color and spontaneity
