Using strips of paper folded and layered into eye-catching patterns, you’ll create several festive designs inspired by the winter holidays and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Calligraphy—the art of beautiful handwriting—is a timeless skill that adds a personal, elegant touch to both everyday and special projects. Whether you’re creating cards, addressing envelopes, designing invitations, scrapbooking, or crafting unique gifts, calligraphy brings a distinctive and meaningful flair to your work.
In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the graceful Italic style of calligraphy in a fun, relaxed environment that’s welcoming to all skill levels. No prior experience is necessary, and instruction will move at a comfortable, supportive pace.
Please note: Consistent attendance is essential for this class. Missing more than one session is strongly discouraged, as it is extremely difficult to catch up once more than one class is missed, even with independent practice. Students who miss two or more classes will not be able to continue in the course, and no refunds will be issued. Students will dive into the world of handmade books, exploring creativity, texture, color, and design while learning the basics of bookbinding. Through hands-on experimentation, students will create their own junk journals using recycled and upcycled materials, decorative papers, fabric, and found objects.
Throughout the week, students will learn techniques such as folding, stitching, and assembling pages, as well as designing covers and adding personal touches. By the end of camp, each student will have a one-of-a-kind journal or handmade book to treasure and share, showcasing their creativity and growing skills in bookmaking.
All supplies are provided. Please bring a lunch and dress for mess!

Explore the many ways you can play, experiment, and tell stories in a sketchbook! This fun and relaxed class will introduce you to different ways of using a sketchbook, whether you’re traveling, exploring your everyday surroundings, hiking in nature, or simply experimenting with new art materials.
Learn how to choose a sketchbook and materials that work well on the go, then try your hand at travel sketching, urban sketching, nature sketching, and creative material experiments. Along the way, you’ll explore different artists and approaches for inspiration while discovering what works best for your own style.
Students will create four unique sketchbook pages, each focused on a different theme: travel, urban sketching, nature, and material exploration. Come ready to play, experiment, and create pages you’ll enjoy looking back on for years to come!
