The Geometry of Creativity: Exploring the Intersection of Art and Math
The Fall Educator Workshop is packed with creativity, exploration, and geometry, as it aims to enhance the understanding and appreciation of both math and art. Math draws upon Art just as artists draw upon mathematics; and when they come together, students will be inspired to see math as a beautiful and creative subject. This two-day workshop will embody making, thinking, and imagining. We’ll build our skills and explore mathematical ideas through hands-on projects such as creating Islamic geometric patterns, glass mosaics, and 3D exploration, along with an opportunity to tour ‘Celebrate! An 18-Year Legacy of Kiln formed Glass.’ Projects are designed for K-12, and materials will be selected with consideration for school budgets.
OSPI STEM clock hours can be earned.
