Dive into the fascinating world of water! In this immersive camp, young artists will explore aquatic life from streams and lakes to the open ocean through engaging, hands-on art projects.
Campers will discover the creatures and ecosystems that live in and around water while creating water-themed artworks that incorporate sculpture, painting, and drawing. Learn how to create unique monoprints without a press using a gel printing plate. In this class, we'll use an 8" x 10" gel plate with acrylic paint, found textures, and DIY stencils and stamps. We'll work to create prints that can stand on their own, but gel-printed papers are also wonderful for collages, cards, art journals, or other mixed-media projects.
Unlike many traditional printmaking techniques, gel printing has minimal setup and is easy to do almost anywhere.
Students will learn:
Techniques for creating layered prints using a gel plate and acrylic paint.
How to use homemade stencils/masks and found objects to create interesting textures in your prints.
A basic understanding of how different paints and papers may impact your finished prints.
How to use, care for, and store a gel printing plate.
Students will create monoprints and a variety of printed papers using a gel plate. These prints may also be used for collages, cards, art journals, or other mixed-media projects.

In this hands-on workshop, students will explore the exciting world of mixed-media painting through step-by-step instruction. Participants will learn how to create rich, dimensional textures using modeling paste, building and layering it to add depth and tactile interest to their canvas.
They will also be introduced to decoupage techniques, incorporating printed photos or illustrations and seamlessly adhering, sealing, and blending them into the textured surface.
Finally, students will work with acrylic paints to enhance their compositions, learning how to blend colors, add depth, and unify the painted and decoupaged elements. Students will leave the class having completed two 16” x 20” canvases and one larger 19” x 23” work on a mixed-media board.

In this creative workshop, students will design and craft their own garden mosaic bricks by applying colorful glass tiles directly onto classic clay bricks. Participants will learn the basics of mosaic layout, cutting, adhesion, and grouting as they create unique, weather-resistant pieces perfect for decorating garden beds, pathways, or outdoor spaces. After the second class, each student will leave with a beautifully finished mosaic brick ready to display at home.

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement with a history spanning more than 500 years. Over time, many different schools have developed, each seeking a deeper understanding of this art form. The Sogetsu School, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year, is guided by the principle that Ikebana reflects the creativity of the individual. Using flowers, we create beauty through our own feelings and expression. Join us to experience the joy of creating your own arrangement.
In this workshop, the instructor will guide you step by step in creating your first Ikebana arrangement. For your convenience, all materials are provided, including flowers, scissors, and a container. You will take home the arrangement you create.
