One ring in your set will include a stone setting, allowing you to learn basic stone-setting techniques. Emphasis is placed on organic textures, cohesive design, and wearable form, making this class perfect for both beginners and intermediate students.

Through the workshop, you’ll practice foundational metalsmithing techniques, including shaping, texturing, forming, and finishing, while developing a unified design concept for your collection. By the end of the class, you’ll have a polished series of rings that are unique individually but clearly connected as a set.

Beginning students will learn how to fabricate jewelry from metal sheets and wire. Begin with basic skills such as forging, soldering, and setting cabochon stones. Learn to use a jeweler's saw and other hand tools.

After learning basic silversmithing skills at the beginning of class, students can hone those skills with guided individual projects. The instructor presents more techniques and working side by side with other students creating their individual projects broadens the experience.
