Explore the sculptural beauty of nature by creating your own coordinated bangle set in this hands-on metalsmithing class. Drawing inspiration from botanical forms and natural rhythms, students will use forging, forming, and texturing techniques to shape bronze and silver, with the option to incorporate gold or stone accents.

You’ll learn to sketch and plan a set of bangles that flow together yet retain their own unique character, add texture and detail to bring your designs to life, and finish your pieces so they’re smooth, comfortable, and wearable. This class is suitable for a range of skill levels and encourages you to develop your own style while learning new metalsmithing techniques.

Students Should Bring:

  • Apron

  • Sketch pad or notebook for design ideas

  • Pencils or fine-tip Sharpie

  • Hair tie (for those with long hair)

  • Optional materials for personal accents:

    • Recycled silver (scrap, sheet, or wire)

    • Stones

    • Small pieces of gold

Base metals will be provided, so students can choose whichever additional materials best suit their design.

All tools provided.
