Using lightweight construction foam to build the form and flexible modeling paste to create realistic texture and dimension, participants will transform a flat canvas into a striking three-dimensional work of art.
Through step-by-step instruction, students will learn how to construct and refine a raised relief sculpture, sculpt organic forms and branches, and integrate these elements into a cohesive composition. Through this process, each piece takes form before being frozen, de-molded, and kiln-fired, allowing the powdered glass to transform into solid, dimensional glass.
Throughout the class, students will gain an understanding of how to properly work with glass powders and slurry, including techniques for creating visual depth and controlling composition within mold-based forms. A kiln schedule will be shared so participants can follow the full transformation process from raw material to finished object.
No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment with color and form. Finished pieces will be available for pickup after firing.

Students will learn how to evaluate a stone slab to determine the best placement for a design, safely use a trim saw to cut rough shapes, create and use a dopping stick for handling stones during the polishing process, and grind and polish their pieces to a professional finish. By the end of the class, each student will leave with several finished cabochons ready to be set into jewelry or added to a collection.

This introductory class will give students the opportunity to learn the basics of borosilicate glass. Students will learn how to melt solid glass, blow out hollow work, and how to sculpt or shape glass. Coloring techniques will also be covered.
Students will use their new skills to create work of their choosing. Pendants, sculptures, pipes, and whatever else you can think of!

Enameling on Copper

In this one-day torchworking workshop, beginners will learn to create small glass vases and apothecary-style bottles using borosilicate glass. Using pre-made colored blanks, students will explore simple techniques for adding color with glass rods and shaping the material in the flame to produce elegant, functional forms.
The class focuses on creating vessels ideal for perfumes, facial oils, eye serums, or even culinary uses like olive oil. Participants will also learn to make simple, solid glass stoppers to pair with their bottles. Step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on guidance will help students develop skills in controlling heat, maintaining symmetry, and forming clean openings and bases.
This workshop offers a fun, approachable introduction to flame-worked glass, perfect for beginners while also providing techniques that can enhance the skills of those with prior torch experience.

Intro to Lampwork Glass - Tiny Glass Hearts

Creating tiny glass hearts is a fun introduction to sculpting with glass. Using rods of borosilicate glass and bench-mounted flameworking torches, students will learn how to melt and shape glass. Different methods of applying color will be covered.
Students will learn how to safely operate a flameworking torch and how to use the flame to melt and shape borosilicate glass into heart shapes. We will also experiment with applying frit and stringer to the hot glass for added color and decoration.
Students will make several small (3/4"-1") glass hearts.

During this hands-on class, you will be making two spoons. Get started with the basic skills and safety practices while carving a simple and useful kitchen spoon. Continue to hone your skills as you carve a more decorative "love spoon" -- something often given as a gift. Learn about wood selection, preparing blanks, basic carving techniques, and traditional oil finishing. These skills will help you become prepared for future wood carving projects that you can use in another class or at home.

This class is a great introduction to flameworking glass. Students will use a bench-mounted torch and rods of borosilicate glass to learn how to carefully melt glass and shape a gather of glass into an icicle. After completing some basic clear icicles, the process of applying some stripes of color will be covered.
Students will learn how to safely light and use a bench-mounted torch. They will learn how to melt a glass rod to create a gather of molten glass on the end, and learn to use tools to transform that gather into an icicle
Students should go home with several small icicles.
