Working from instructor-provided templates, students will learn essential techniques for cutting, fitting, and assembling their pieces into a cohesive composition. The class emphasizes precision, patience, and craftsmanship while remaining accessible to beginners—no prior experience is required.

All materials are provided, and students will leave with a finished marquetry piece and a solid foundation in this timeless craft.

This hands-on class introduces students to the fundamentals of relief carving, focusing on how to create depth and dimension on a flat piece of wood. Guided by the instructor, students will learn how to transfer a design, properly use carving tools, and shape the surface to bring an image to life.

Students may choose from a selection of instructor-provided designs and work at their own pace while developing essential carving skills, including tool control, line work, and layering for depth. The class is suitable for beginners as well as those looking to refine their technique.
