In this one-day torchworking workshop, beginners will learn to create small glass vases and apothecary-style bottles using borosilicate glass. Using pre-made colored blanks, students will explore simple techniques for adding color with glass rods and shaping the material in the flame to produce elegant, functional forms.
The class focuses on creating vessels ideal for perfumes, facial oils, eye serums, or even culinary uses like olive oil. Participants will also learn to make simple, solid glass stoppers to pair with their bottles. You'll also explore three distinct mosaic techniques: glass on wood, glass on glass, and the indirect method.

Mother-of-pearl inlay, known as luo dian in Chinese, is a traditional art form admired for its luminous, iridescent beauty and detailed craftsmanship. In this hands-on workshop, students will explore this technique through a simplified, beginner-friendly approach while creating their own piece of jewelry.
Participants will learn the basics of working with shell materials, including cutting, shaping, and arranging pieces to create a balanced design. Along the way, students will also be introduced to the history and cultural context of mother-of-pearl inlay.
A variety of project options will be available—such as pendants, earrings, or brooches—and students will be able to choose their own colors and compositions, making each piece unique.

This two-day workshop begins with a lecture and demonstration focused on classical realism techniques and traditional materials. Students will then apply what they’ve learned by drawing from a live model, with instruction supported by ongoing demonstrations, individualized feedback, and group critique.
Throughout the workshop, students will learn how to approach portrait drawing in the vein of classical realism, using time-tested methods and materials. By the end of the class, each student will complete a realistic portrait on toned paper using graphite and white chalk.

Ceramic Garden Gnomes

The students will learn basic clay techniques to build high-fired garden gnomes. They can be any gender, shape, or size and personalized to look like someone you know. Multi-color clays will be used, and the instructor will "patina" the pieces after bisque-firing them.

This figure drawing class offers students the opportunity to work from a professional live, fully clothed model while building strong observational and technical skills. Poses will begin with short gestures and gradually progress into longer, sustained poses, allowing students to develop both speed and accuracy in their drawings.
Class sessions include demonstrations, guided practice, and one-on-one critique. Instruction focuses on a classical realism approach, helping students strengthen their understanding of proportion, structure, and form.
Students will learn the fundamentals of figure drawing and create multiple drawings throughout the course that reflect their growing confidence and skill.

Designed specifically for kids aged 10-16, we will cover the basics of composition, light & shadow, color harmony, and perspective. You will have the opportunity to paint a variety of summer-themed subjects: beaches, oceans, mountains, sunsets, flowers, and more. We will delve into some of the alternative techniques acrylics have to offer: washes, layering, dripping, sponging, spraying, textured mediums, collage, etc!

In this one-day torchworking workshop, beginners will learn to create small glass vases and apothecary-style bottles using borosilicate glass. Using pre-made colored blanks, students will explore simple techniques for adding color with glass rods and shaping the material in the flame to produce elegant, functional forms.
The class focuses on creating vessels ideal for perfumes, facial oils, eye serums, or even culinary uses like olive oil. Participants will also learn to make simple, solid glass stoppers to pair with their bottles. Step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on guidance will help students develop skills in controlling heat, maintaining symmetry, and forming clean openings and bases.

Through hands-on experimentation, students will create their own junk journals using recycled and upcycled materials, decorative papers, fabric, and found objects.
Throughout the week, students will learn techniques such as folding, stitching, and assembling pages, as well as designing covers and adding personal touches. By the end of camp, each student will have a one-of-a-kind journal or handmade book to treasure and share, showcasing their creativity and growing skills in bookmaking.

This watercolor workshop introduces the fundamentals of painting and how to take those skills outdoors to work en plein air—painting directly from life. Slowing down, observing closely, and responding to the landscape are at the heart of this class, as nature becomes both the subject and the teacher.
We’ll meet each day at The Jetty Bar & Grille, located on the scenic Everett waterfront. After a brief demonstration and discussion of techniques—such as washes, wet-into-wet and wet-into-dry painting, and color mixing—we’ll disperse to nearby waterfront locations to paint the marina, islands, mountains, and working harbor.
All levels are welcome, from complete beginners to those with some experience. The class focuses on essential techniques you’ll return to again and again while building confidence painting outdoors.
All materials are provided for use during the workshop.
Please bring lunch or snacks, a water bottle, and whatever you need to be comfortable working outside—such as a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and/or a portable seat. We will plan to paint near the grassy areas around the waterfront; shaded spots are often available, though as this is a public space, they cannot be guaranteed.

This beginner-friendly course guides students through the process of painting a beautiful portrait from a live model in a single session. Drawing inspiration from the time-tested techniques of the Old Masters, students will gain the knowledge and confidence to capture the likeness and character of any subject.
Through step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn how to create a solid block-in, establish accurate proportions, and define areas of light and shadow to build a lifelike sense of form. The class also covers brush selection and how different brushes serve each stage of the painting—from broad strokes to detailed refinements.
By the end of the session, students will complete a one-of-a-kind portrait that reflects both the individuality and spirit of the model, along with foundational skills they can apply to future portrait work.

In this beginner-friendly class, students will learn how to crochet and customize their own piece of headwear—whether it’s a beanie, mask, or balaclava. Perfect for the colder months, this workshop covers the basics of crochet, including how to read and adapt patterns to fit different head sizes. By the end of the class, students will complete one handmade item and leave with the tools, skills, and patterns needed to continue creating on their own.
Students are more than welcome to bring their own yarn and supplies if they’d like to personalize their project. A beanie can be made with any yarn weight, as long as the pattern is adjusted accordingly—so there’s plenty of room for creativity. That said, all necessary materials will be provided, so no one will be left empty-handed if they don’t bring their own.

Welcome to the vibrant world of mosaics! In this hands-on introductory workshop, you'll learn the essential techniques needed to create beautiful mosaic art.
Students will be introduced to the basics of cutting and nipping glass, working with various adhesives and substrates, choosing and placing tesserae, and applying different grouting methods. You'll also explore three distinct mosaic techniques: glass on wood, glass on glass, and the indirect method.
Projects include a glass-on-wood mosaic, a glass sun catcher, and an indirect cast mosaic.
All materials are provided, but you're welcome to bring personal items or special pieces to incorporate into your designs.
