Discover the beauty of traditional lacquerware and mother-of-pearl inlay in this beginner-friendly workshop inspired by historic decorative arts. Using safe, eco-friendly materials in place of traditional natural lacquer, students will create a refined lacquerware-inspired accessory in just one session.

Participants will learn about the history and visual style of Chinese lacquerware while designing and assembling a small decorative piece such as a hair stick, hair clip, or other accessory using sandalwood bases, pre-cut mother-of-pearl pieces, and faux inlay materials.

No prior experience is necessary. Students will leave with a finished handcrafted piece inspired by the elegance of traditional mother-of-pearl inlay.

All supplies provided.
