Cloisonné enamel, known as Jing Tai Lan, is a traditional Chinese art form known for its bright colors and detailed metalwork. In this workshop, students will learn about its history and visual style while creating their own simplified version using safe, beginner-friendly materials (no kiln or firing required).
Participants will design and assemble a jewelry piece inspired by cloisonné, using segmented patterns and their own color choices. Options may include a pendant, earrings, or a brooch.
This class is designed for beginners with no experience needed. By the end, each student will complete a finished, wearable piece inspired by this classic art form.

Explore Dian Cui–inspired jewelry, a modern take on a traditional Chinese feather art known for its bright color and delicate texture.
In this hands-on workshop, students will use ethically sourced, naturally shed feathers (non-kingfisher) along with simple materials to create their own jewelry piece. You’ll learn basic design, layering, and assembly techniques in a step-by-step, beginner-friendly process.
Project options may include a hairpin, hair clip, earrings, or brooch, with flexibility to choose your own colors and style a variety of copper bases and a selection of a variety of copper bases, dyed goose feathers in multiple colors, faux pearls, and all tools needed during the class.
Optional premium materials will also be available for purchase from the instructor during the workshop. Students may choose to upgrade to natural undyed peacock feathers for an additional $15 per student. Mother-of-pearl inlay accessories will be available for an additional $10 each. Natural freshwater pearls and assorted natural gemstones will also be available for $20 each.
No experience is needed. By the end of the class, each student will leave with a finished, wearable piece.
Song Brocade Jewelry & Accessories Workshop

Discover the beauty of traditional Chinese Song Brocade in this hands-on accessory-making workshop. Known for its rich colors, elegant patterns, and cultural symbolism, Song Brocade has been treasured for centuries as one of China's most celebrated textile arts.
Using pre-made brocade fabrics featuring traditional Chinese motifs and a variety of copper bases in different styles, students will design and create unique wearable accessories such as hair clips, earrings, brooches, bracelets, and other decorative pieces. Along the way, you'll learn about the cultural significance of brocade patterns while exploring techniques for pattern selection, color matching, fabric cutting, assembly, and finishing.
Optional premium upgrades will also be available for purchase from the instructor during the workshop. Students may choose to upgrade to higher-quality Song brocade, which includes richer fabrics and more intricate patterns, for an additional $10 per student. Sterling silver bases will be available for an additional $15 per student, and mother-of-pearl inlay accents can be added for an additional $10 per student. All other supplies will be provided.
Perfect for beginners, this workshop combines cultural appreciation with creative design and practical crafting skills. Students will leave with one or more handcrafted accessories inspired by the timeless beauty of Song Brocade.
Lacquerware-inspired & Mother-of-Pearl Accessories

Discover the beauty of traditional lacquerware and mother-of-pearl inlay in this beginner-friendly workshop inspired by historic decorative arts. Using safe, eco-friendly materials in place of traditional natural lacquer, students will create a refined lacquerware-inspired accessory in just one session.
Participants will learn about the history and visual style of Chinese lacquerware while designing and assembling a small decorative piece such as a hair stick, hair clip, or other accessory using copper bases, standard mother-of-pearl inlay pieces, and decorative materials.
Optional premium upgrades will also be available during the workshop for purchase from the instructor. Students may choose more refined bases, including sandalwood bases, for an additional $10 per student. Imported Australian abalone shell and pre-cut shaped mother-of-pearl pieces will be available for an additional $15 per student.
No prior experience is necessary. Students will leave with a finished handcrafted piece inspired by the elegance of traditional mother-of-pearl inlay.

Mother-of-pearl inlay, known as luo dian in Chinese, is a traditional art form admired for its luminous, iridescent beauty and detailed craftsmanship. In this hands-on workshop, students will explore this technique through a simplified, beginner-friendly approach while creating their own piece of jewelry.
Participants will learn the basics of working with shell materials, including cutting, shaping, and arranging pieces to create a balanced design. Along the way, students will also be introduced to the history and cultural context of mother-of-pearl inlay.
A variety of project options will be available—such as pendants, earrings, or brooches—and students will be able to choose their own colors and compositions, making each piece unique.
No prior experience is required. By the end of the class, each student will complete a finished, wearable piece that highlights the natural beauty of mother-of-pearl.
