Explore the beauty of Chinese cloisonné in this contemporary, hands-on painting workshop. Inspired by the intricate patterns and vibrant colors of traditional cloisonné, students will learn how fine metal wires can be shaped and arranged to create decorative outlines and enclosed sections. You’ll then fill your design with richly colored enamel-inspired materials, building layers of color and texture to create a striking finished artwork.

The instructor will introduce the history and basic techniques of Chinese cloisonné while guiding you through design planning, wire placement, color selection, filling, and surface-finishing techniques. Each student will create one completed cloisonné-inspired artwork on a prepared decorative panel.

No previous art experience is required. All supplies will be provided.
