Discover the art of traditional broom making in this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop! Students will learn how to weave two functional hand brooms—a turkey wing broom and a hawk's tail broom—while exploring the tools, materials, and techniques used to create these beautiful handcrafted pieces.

Along the way, you'll gain an understanding of broom construction and weaving methods while creating durable brooms that are as practical as they are decorative. No previous experience is required.

By the end of the class, you'll leave with two completed hand brooms and the foundational skills to continue exploring the craft.

Please note that broom making is a physical activity that requires the use of both hands and feet, and moderate hand strength is recommended.

Create beautiful handmade straw stars inspired by traditional Ukrainian and Eastern European holiday decorations. In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn how to transform natural straw and thread into intricate geometric ornaments using simple weaving techniques. Through step-by-step demonstrations and guided practice, students will explore the cultural history and symbolism of these traditional decorations while creating one or more finished straw stars to take home.

This workshop requires no previous crafting or weaving experience. Participants will leave with new skills, handmade ornaments, and an appreciation for sustainable materials and folk art traditions passed down through generations..
