This two-day workshop begins with a lecture and demonstration focused on classical realism techniques and traditional materials. Students will then apply what they’ve learned by drawing from a live model, with instruction supported by ongoing demonstrations, individualized feedback, and group critique.
Throughout the workshop, students will learn how to approach portrait drawing in the vein of classical realism, using time-tested methods and materials. By the end of the class, each student will complete a realistic portrait on toned paper using graphite and white chalk.
