Explore the art of metalworking in this immersive workshop as you create a custom set of rings using recycled silver and bronze. Students will learn essential techniques including fusing, texturing, forming, finishing, and fabricating a bezel to set a gemstone securely. This class is suitable for both beginners and experienced makers and emphasizes craftsmanship, creative exploration, and mixed-metal design.
Students may bring recycled silver scraps (such as old rings, earrings, or other gold or silver jewelry). Additional recycled metal will be available for purchase from the instructor during class. For questions regarding potential supply fees, please contact the class coordinator at rchernow@schack.org.
By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a set of handcrafted rings featuring personalized textures, finishes, and a custom stone setting—each piece truly one of a kind.
